My singing Journey

I’ve been singing ever since I could talk really. I don’t really come from a musical family although my grandad sings and plays guitar and my mum sings all as hobbies. I guess for me singing was a hobby something I enjoyed I used to print off song lyrics to take into school with me so me and my friends could learn them. I’ve been a huge Disney fan all my life so a lot of the songs I used to sing come from there.

In 2013 I performed at my school talent show with my friend and we sang “What Makes You Beautiful” by One Direction. Back in those days my inspirations were Selena Gomez, Justin Bieber and Miley Cyrus I was also obsessed with One Direction. The following year me and my friend decided to sing “Best Song Ever” by One Direction in the school talent show. After that our friendship came to a stop for quite a few months but by the end of the year we were back on track we never performed together again however I did bring some lyrics into school one day which we used to sing in the playground. These lyrics were “Better in Stereo” the Liv and Maddie theme song, “Take on the world” the Girl Meets World theme song and “Whenever” the Best Friends Whenever theme song.

During this time I used to dream about performing up on stage. I would stand on my bed and sing “The Middle of Starting Over” by Sabrina Carpenter and I would move around pretending it was like a stage I would even sit on my window sill and pretend I was sat on the edge of a stage singing to an audience but I never thought I would ever get the chance to do that back then it was just a hobby and I wanted to make a career out of working with animals.

In 2015/2016 me, my friend, her sister and her sister’s friend always used to hang around together. We formed our own little band and we used to write songs together every time we got the chance we never sang in front of anyone we just wrote songs together.

In 2017 everything changed. Three weeks before my school broke up for summer break. I took the song lyrics of “There For You” by Jayden Revri and Jade Alleyne from Disney’s The Lodge into school to look at during form time. My friends caught me with them and asked me to sing for them at first I refused and then I did sing for them. They told me I was really good and then said to my form tutor that I needed to perform to the whole class again I refused but after thinking about it over the 24 hour period I decided I had nothing to lose and went for it on the following Thursday. I had never sang in front of an audience by myself before and I was so scared but the reaction I got from everyone afterwards made me realise maybe I was cut out to do this and make a career out of it. During the performance my tutor shut all the blinds in class and all my classmates got their phones out and put the torches on and the atmosphere just felt amazing to me and I enjoyed every second.

After that performance I got straight onto instagram and made a music account just for my friends and a couple of years later I went from being a private account to a public account this took a lot of courage because I wasn’t that confident with my voice but people always used to give me positive feedback and that’s what made me enjoy singing the most.

In October 2018 what started out as just a notice by the one and only Jayden Revri became a friendship between me and him. I’m pretty sure I was at school and I walked out of a lesson and just saw “Jayden Revri liked your message” I freaked out I was now in communication with one of my idols and one of the people who actually made me realise that singing is what I wanted to do with my life.

Over the years I have written many songs however a lot of them will probably never make it out into the world. The first song I wrote that I wanted to do something with was written in two perspectives and it was called “Wildest Dreams”. I had become a huge fan of New Hope Club and the song was basically me singing about them and them singing about me. I went to meet them the following year and took the song with me to get feedback on it etc but unfortunately never heard anything back.

In September 2019, I started talking to JAGMAC and started to promote them by covering their songs on my account and the support I’ve had from them has been insane. Every time I cover a song of theirs they share it on their account.

Since starting my music account on instagram I’ve received support from Reece Bibby from New Hope Club, Denis Coleman, Chanel Yates, Jade Alleyne, Jayden Revri, Kelli Marie and Jess Folley from Real Like You, Conor Michael Smith from In Real Life, Goodboys, Aston Merrygold and Marvin Humes from JLS, McKenna Grace Skylar Stecker, Mark Borino and of course JAGMAC.

In 2021 I decided to shut my music Instagram down as I decided I wanted to pursue a career as a public figure and not only share my love for music but also share my love for dance so I moved over to my current Instagram account full time. I also started studying Music Performance and Production at Cambridge Regional College and performed two gigs at The Golden Hind in Cambridge.

In 2022 I was able to perform at the Cambridge Junction and I also did a gig at the Six Six Bar. I also released my first EP in April all thanks to Cambridge Regional College.

Now in 2023 I continue to write music and have just released my most recent EP ‘Love Will Remember’.
